Made the team. But that's not a very important story. Point is, I did. Had an EXCELLENT team meeting. These guys really are a team, not just individuals. I TORE up my workout today. It felt great. I think a good part of that was the temperature was perfect.
Went swimming today instead of working out. Poor choice. Well, not in the long run. But i'm really tired now.

VII
Easy day today. I did about 7 miles with Frank today. It was great. We did some strides and he said I had crazy foot speed because I was one of the few guys on the team who could consistently keep up with him on strides. Sweet. I was going faster than I usually do, but their version of strides are much faster, so I mean, it was normal for them. On like...my 5th stride? These dumbass frisbee guys were playing, completely oblivious to our strides and one guy threw one right in my face. Instinctively, and honestly on the downstroke of my arm's stride I swatted the thing straight to the ground. But I guess it looked really impressive. He certainly retold the story in detail when we got back to the gym. Sweet.
I then proceeded to eat approximately half of my body weight in pizza, pasta, pork, apple sauce, mashed potatoes and gelato.
Then I did my laundry. Which is still wet, but I don't want to spend an ADDITIONAL 1.25 to REALLY dry them.
I honestly have a shit ton of homework here. But it's all reading. Unfortunately my capacity reading has diminished since last year. I'll need to get back into reading books like Amsco. It's all so dense, and so long. Like...it took me a good hour to read my geology chapter tonight. And I've spent most of the afternoon reading my John Ford book, which is actually great. But the guy who wrote it must have had trouble focusing, since I frequently lose where he's going and I have to go back and reread to find out what he said.
But yeah. Ramen time!
Sorry for the crappy post.

VII (because I say it is)
We were supposed to have XC tryouts today, so I slept in till noon almost, ate really well and chewed it up really small. Stressed for a while. Played guitar to calm the nerves. Then I headed over to Goolrick only to hear that it was too hot to do the time trial, so we are gonna do it friday. Well Dammit. We did have a workout though, and it kicked my ass. But by the end I was feeling great and I destroyed my last two three minute pickups. I passed a bunch of people too, so I looked better finishing. But that doesn't matter since Soper was monitoring us in his car. But at least I solidly hammered one kid, and I beat one of the other freshies from about 40 meters back on the last pick up.
That was my day. I then went to dinner. Went back to Russell. Played guitar, and then called Joy. Having no class on tuesday is pretty sweet.

IV?
It's getting better I guess. I'm slowly meeting more people that I actually like. Not the bros or slam pieces as Jake calls them. I went out and had a nice run with him tonight though. I've honestly never liked him but running with him today showed me a different, less asshat side of him. He usually comes off as arrogant and a prick but he was quite modest and kind around me. I was taken by surprise. He was like come do your run with me and I didn't really want to, but I figured since he had just had a collapsed lung he wouldn't try to kill me.
I'm going to go practice for my audition which is in two days now though. I don't have to get up till 10 tomorrow!!!!

Getting a little better. I got to hang out with the XC guys today who are really cool. Still pretty homesick though.
BUT, I saw this illusionist guy today. He was the most legit thing I have ever seen. He was so good. He was calling out people's girlfriend's and parents names and their phone numbers and stuff. Like, you would have to see it but I was THOROUGHLY impressed.
But anyway. Heading to bed? Or just hanging out for a little.

Check it out!!
Now that that's done with...
I feel sort of bad for abandoning my blog. But I don't really. It had it's place in my life, and now it doesn't. I'm not even going to try and say I'll keep it up. But who knows. Maybe with my loads of free time in college I can blog again. I'm only being halfway facetious (props if you can catch the reference.) I'm sitting at the table in my RV at this tacky little camp ground in...somewhere in Utah. But it has wireless internet. I can not complain one little bit.
I'm pretty ready to come home even though I'm heading straight to running camp. I'm not sure what to except. I'm sort of thinking hazing since the coach didn't know about it. But the team is so chill I'd honestly be sort of shocked if that's how it turned out. I guess it'll be a chance to oush myself against the other guys.
We're heading to Durango, CO tomorrow which is one of my favorite places in the west. I'd say it's a good way to end my vacation. Durango is one of those towns you could just live in. Unfortunately however, I'm pretty set on the North. Where it's cold. Really cold. Not like the west doesn't get cold. But it's different.
Pretty excited about going off to college. But not really excited about leaving some friends behind.
* ;)
In no order except the first few, some of the people who've meant a lot to me or I've though highly of in high school and before.

I Promise a Better Post Later
But it's been a busy day.
Dropped a 55.4 in the 400 today. Got me third in the showdown. Thank God I don't have to run the 4x4 at regionals. Let Keith and Wayson kill it.
Yeah.
Feeling better.

I
actually had a really successful race. I didn't have a good race really. I mean I ran a 12 second PR, but I could have gone faster. I can always go faster. It's going to be awesome if we can get 6 runners under 18 at these post season meets. I know we won't at HHS because the course is so slow, but regional and states yes. I really appreciate the way Andrew runs with me. Seriously, he's close to the best racing partner ever. I got cut off and forced behind a really slow pack, and I looked up and he was cutting holes in the pack for me getting me spaces to move. And to pay him back I drag him along through the first two miles. I really hope he goes to post season.
Hm.
So I'm going to homecoming tonight. Fun hopefully? I think it will be for once.

I Don't Feel Like...
doing my literary analysis quite yet. I actually just don't feel like finding a 150 word excerpt. I wouldn't mind doing it if I had one. She said to just google it, and I googled it, and I can't find it. I did all my homework though, so I get a 15 minute break because I say so. I'm actually practicing theory right now, so I'm technically doing homework.
SO.
Cross Country meet today. Started out flirting with first. DIED. Became 11th. Licked my wounds. Came back. Passed 2 people. Finished 8th with 9th 45 seconds behind me.
It was a lot more complex than that, and a lot less. I went out like I was used to going out in track, at a comfortably fast pace. Keith and I got stuck behind these three RE Lee guys who were going slow. I got annoyed and passed them and Keith followed. Chaos ensued. I stuck with that pack of Andy, Keith and Bani for the first mile, and then dropped off cause I couldn't breathe and I was exhausted from running a 5:37 first mile. Fastest first mile I've ever ran. I then proceeded to lick my wounds and run a 7:03 second mile. Not my best moment. Bair was yelling for me to race, and I was like no.....no race...can't breathe. That second mile was kind of weird. It didn't exist. Then I recovered a little bit, and started chasing down the people that had passed me. I got 1 of them right off. The other one took me about 1000 meters. I slowly worked up on him until he gave up and told me to pass him. I did and got an adrenaline rush. It was pretty awesome. Raced the whole last 600 meters and ran a 6 something mile. Don't feel like doing the math. Semi negative splits. Cool. Except my knee really aches right now.
Sorry for the wall of text.
I'm going to go do my english now.
